Modern Dance Classes
Liberty School of Dance, based in Osterley, Isleworth runs Modern dance classes for children. Many people often ask, ‘what is modern?’ This dance is a combination of a range of dance styles, such as contemporary, jazz and street, all explored within one dance syllabus.
The common focus is on travelling and encompassing the dance space as well as building on children’s alignment, balance, strength and flexibility. Furthermore, this combination helps your child to experience and explore the common links of rhythm and improvisation.
Here at Liberty, we aim to provide the best dance classes for children in Isleworth, West London. Through the children’s study of Modern, they get to experience extended dance sequences and routines and the way in which the syllabus is constructed helps the students to become expressive dancers.
Modern and Ballet complement each other very well and are an excellent combination if your child is looking to develop their dancing further.
Disciplines at School
Modern is a wonderful examination syllabus by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. It provides an excellent foundation for Jazz, lyrical and contemporary dance which develops well throughout the grades.
Throughout the syllabus, there is a clear focus on music and rhythm. The exercises are constructed extremely well, building on technique and strength, while combining various movements to make dancers more versatile.
The exercises help the students to learn to fully encompass the space while working on their physical skills of flexibility, strength, stamina and coordination.
